Hurdlr's Business Intelligence Embedded experience makes it easy for you to provide your users with an easily digestible overview of their business's key performance indicators. It also serves as a great way to onboard new users, as it gives them a glimpse of what kind of business intelligence they will receive by simply following a few quick onboarding steps.
1. How it works
Whether or not you are leveraging the Plaid integration, the Hurdlr API automatically keeps a General Ledger behind the scenes for all of your users. While your users may never want to look at a GL or Chart of Accounts, the beauty of the behind-the-scenes GL is that they get all the business intelligence benefits without the burden of having to manage a General Ledger or understand bookkeeping.
2. Connecting your data sources
Once you have registered your user with the Hurdlr API, you will want to feed in your user's transaction data. That can be done via a Plaid integration, or via a custom integration. Reach out to our API team at [email protected]; we are ready and excited to help you get your existing data sources feeding into the Hurdlr API.
3. Profit & Loss tile
The Profit & Loss tile gives the user a quick snapshot of their business's profit after tax. Unlike many P&Ls, the final number in this tile subtracts out the business owner's tax obligation, yielding the single most important number to every business owner.
4. Cash Flow tile
The Cash Flow tile gives the user a quick snapshot of the cash flowing in and out of their business's bank accounts. These inflow and outflows include all transaction types, including income (including loans/liabilities, funding/equity), expenses (including assets purchased, owners draw), bank transfers, and tax payments.
5. Invoice tile
The Invoice tile gives the user a quick snapshot of the invoices they have sent as well as the money they are still owed for open invoices.
6. Expense tile
The Expense tile gives the user a quick snapshot of their business expense transactions, including the top spending categories. This tile only includes the actual business expenses (i.e. it excludes capital assets, owner's draw, and any other money spent that results in an addition to the Balance Sheet).
7. Income tile
The Income tile gives the user a quick snapshot of their business income transactions. This tile only includes the actual business income (i.e. it excludes bank transfers, loans received, and any other money received that results in an addition to the Balance Sheet).
8. Tax tile
The Tax tile gives the user a quick snapshot of their taxes owed. Hurdlr estimates the federal, state, and self-employed taxes that the business owner will owe, for all pass-through entity types.
9. Next steps
After your user's data sources are linked into the Hurdlr API, Hurdlr will automatically begin ingesting transactions from the user's linked accounts. All of Hurdlr's Business Intelligence features will immediately become available to your user, both in the Business Intelligence Embeddable Tiles and via API.
